Works in Watercolor

Watercolor is like jazz.  You can improvise and riff on the spontaneous way that watercolor and paper will react to each other.   Pigment dances on paper in different ways.  The roughness of the paper will push one way and the loaded brush another.

No matter how much you plan and strive to control the end result, watercolor will surprise and delight.

I love the speed of the process which does not allow you to think too much.  Add to the that layering of color, allowing the artist to build value and hue change at will, and you have a medium that is at once luminous and luscious.
